• How do I apply for a job at Vertex?

  You can submit your resume via our Apply Now page. After your successful submission and creation of your Job Seeker Profile, we will send you a confirmation email. Please note, we do not accept hard-copy applications or resumes.

• How can I update my resume on file?

  To update your resume on file, simply log into your previously created Job Seeker profile. After logging in, look for a link labeled “Edit your Profile” located in the middle of the page. Clicking on this link will allow you to upload, edit, or delete up to five versions of your resume and cover letter.

• Will my resume be reviewed?

  Once you create a profile and submit your resume through the online system for a particular position, your resume goes for review by the recruiter who is supporting that position. There is no automated resume review system. The only time your resume may not be reviewed by the recruiter is if a final candidate has been identified prior to your submission.

  Your resume will also be entered into the Vertex Job Seeker searchable database. This means your resume may be considered for other opportunities available at Vertex.

• How will my skills and experience be assessed?

  Your skills and experience will be assessed against the qualifications listed for each of the positions for which you have submitted your resume. If it is determined that your experience and background meet the qualifications listed, there is an interest in getting additional information, and a final candidate has not already been identified, you will be contacted and additional information will be requested.

  If we do not contact you regarding a particular position, please do not be discouraged. New positions open frequently, and your skills and experience may make you the ideal candidate for another position.

• May I submit my resume for multiple positions?

  Yes you may, however we strongly suggest submitting your resume for only those positions for which you meet the stated minimum qualifications.

• Should I apply even if there are not positions posted that meet my interests and qualifications?

  Absolutely. If after searching our open positions you do not find a match with your interests and qualifications, we welcome you to submit your resume for future consideration. Resumes are reviewed throughout the hiring process, and all resumes received are stored in our database for future review and consideration. Although we generally search the system for candidates that meet the minimum qualifications of specific positions as they become available, we are not always able to do so and we encourage you to return to our website regularly for positions that interest you. You may also create a search agent which will notify you when a position is posted that matches your criteria.

• How often are jobs updated?

  Positions at Vertex are opened and closed on a regular basis, and our website is updated constantly to reflect these changes.

• When will I hear from a recruiter?

  Once you have submitted your resume for a particular position on our careers website a copy of your resume goes for review by the recruiter who is supporting that position. If your background matches the qualifications listed, there is an interest in getting additional information, and if a final candidate has not already been identified, we will reach out to you. Due to the volume of resumes we receive, we are unable to provide feedback to every job seeker.

• How long is the typical hiring process?

  Every effort is made to make our hiring process as fast and transparent as possible. The length of our hiring process can vary greatly depending on the position and may include multiple phone and in-person interviews.

• What is appropriate interview attire?

  First impressions are important, and although the dress at Vertex is typically business casual, we encourage all candidates to dress business professional.

• What is the typical time frame for making a decision/selection process?

  The time it takes to make a hiring decision can vary greatly. Factors like number of applicants, timing of resume submitted and outside influences on the hiring group can have significant influence over how quickly or slowly the hiring decision is made. If you are contacted by a recruiter, they will be able to discuss the hiring timeline with you.

  Yes, Vertex does offer relocation benefits to those eligible. Should you be eligible for relocation benefits, you would receive a competitive and comprehensive package. A Vertex recruiter will be able to confirm for you if relocation assistance is available as well as more details around the relocation package.

• Does Vertex sponsor visas?

  Some positions are eligible for work visa sponsorship. Your Vertex recruiter will be able to give you more information.

• Does Vertex have temporary openings?

• What is Vertex's policy for working with Staffing Agencies?

  Any recruiter or agency seeking to work with Vertex Pharmaceuticals must initially contact our Strategic Staffing Group and enter into an approved search agreement signed by the Director, Strategic Staffing at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. A search agreement must be in place prior to submitting a resume for consideration. Regardless of past practice, any resumes submitted by recruiters or search firms to any employee or representative of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, or directly to hiring managers at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, in any form without a valid written search agreement in place for that position will be deemed to be the sole property of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and no fee will be paid in the event the candidate is hired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a result of the referral or through other means.
